With less than a month to go before Mannequin Pussy officially drop their eagerly-awaited fourth studio album, I Got Heaven, arriving on March 1 via Epitaph Records, the four-piece have released their Buffy The Vampire Slayer-inspired new single, “Nothing Like.”

In this latest offering, the band seamlessly melds their trademark indie essence with sugary-sweet punk, crafting a dynamic soundscape that encapsulates the fervent longing for youthful romance. Delving into the precarious realm where infatuation overpowers reason, “Nothing Like” is propelled by frontwoman Marisa Dabice‘s evocative vocal delivery, transitioning from a tender croon to a powerful crescendo laden with the raw desperation of young love.

Dabice shares, “‘Nothing Like’ is pure fantasy. Originally inspired by a stoned-out night 6 years ago spent watching an episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer in which Buffy is forced to kill her lover, Angel, before he destroys the world.”

She continues, “The song existed in fragments until it finally met its final form last year. Young love is so often all-consuming, dangerous, and heightened to mythological proportions—‘Nothing Like’ sought to mix the balance of both the light feelings of new love and the absolute depths that obsession can bring you to.”

Mannequin Pussy will be kicking off their I Got Heaven Tour Stateside in April to celebrate and support the release of their forthcoming record. Today, the group also announced that they have expanded their U.S. tour overseas to Europe. Check out their full touring schedule below and grab tickets to see Mannequin Pussy live here.
