Alien Ant Farm Strips Down “Movies” Live At idobi Radio Studios

Alien Ant Farm Movies WEB HEADER

On the heels of their latest long-awaited full-length album, ~mAntras~, Alien Ant Farm stopped by the idobi Radio Studios in North Hollywood, CA, to perform their breakout single “Movies.” The track originally appeared on their 1999 release, Greatest Hits, before it was re-recorded for their debut studio album, Anthology, alongside their cover of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal,” released in 2001.

Stripped down from the prog guitar-laden arrangement of the original, “Movies” erupts throughout the studio space. Led by gentle acoustics that create an intimate atmosphere and steady percussion that maintains the track’s flow, the softer instrumentation highlights the song’s evolved depth since its initial release. The stripped-back nature of the performance perfectly captures the opening verse: “At slow speed, we all seem focused/In motion, we seem wrong/In summer, we can taste the rain.” Check out Alien Ant Farm’s performance of “Movies” at the idobi Radio Studios below.

Alien Ant Farm is currently on tour supporting the release of ~mAntras~ with The Ataris, Kaleido, and Driveways. You can check out their full North American schedule below and purchase tickets here.
