Wheatus Surprises With “Christmas Dirtbag” Single And EP

As everyone heads back to their hometowns for the holidays, Wheatus reminds fans that we’re all still “Christmas Dirtbag.” The jolly re-work of their iconic song “Teenage Dirtbag” landed in listeners’ stockings yesterday from their latest release, Just A Dirtbag Christmas EP. It also features two original Christmas songs, a cover of “Feels Like Christmas,” and an instrumental strings revision of “Teenage Dirtbag.”

Frontman Brendan B. Brown took to Instagram to announce the EP and to call for fans to submit videos for the single’s music video. He says, “We’re making a video! We’re making a Christmas Dirtbag…and you should submit your videos online…we love you!” The post includes that listeners should use the CapCut template and post their video to any social media platform and use their submission form for a chance to be featured in the video.

Brown will also join Everclear’s Art Alexakis on an acoustic tour next year in Australia.

Wheatus recently wrapped a UK tour with Swedish band Tribe Friday. In a previous interview with idobi, Tribe Friday vocalist Noah Deutschmann says, “Brown has really been a great friend and mentor over the past year. I feel like he’s really similar to me in that he seems to care about art more than anything, but a lot wiser than me, having gone through everything I’m striving towards. I’m excited to see the whole band on tour and to learn from them.”
