Wake up, Parxies! Waterparks just dropped a vivid music video for their new single “SNEAKING OUT OF HEAVEN.” Staying true to their love of experimental imagery and primary colors, it is a fantastical visual pairing to the song’s synth-pop sensibility. Marking their first single and music video release since their LP, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, the trio proves that they are continuing to put the utmost attention to detail into their creative vision and branding.
From sped-up and stop-motion performance clips to close-ups of Awsten Knight in the grass and lit by a uniquely colored sunset, it feels like the viewer is falling through the sky alongside the band. Continuous shots show some kind of trapdoor that remains open until the song’s end. Knowing the creative chaos of Awsten Knight’s brain, this may be an easter egg for future releases and/or a quirky metaphor for the afterlife. Nevertheless, the music video for “SNEAKING OUT OF HEAVEN” is an immersive experience where time feels like a construct.
So what’s next for Waterparks? The band is performing on both dates of Las Vegas’ second annual When We Were Young Fest. Then, they are headed to Europe for 18 shows in October and November, including a Halloween gig with their friends in Stand Atlantic. It is sure to be a roaring time for Parxies across the pond.
