The group announced in May 2023 that, following their double-album release in 2024 and a world tour, they would bid Sum 41 farewell after nearly 30 years. While emotions run high regarding their breakup, there’s still so much to look forward to from the storied group.

Leading up to their performance on Jimmy Kimmel, bassist Cone—who will launch his new idobi Radio show “Cone’s Cave” on Monday, February 12 at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT—shared on Instagram, “We’ve played on @jimmykimmellive a few times and we are going to do it one last time this Thursday, February 8th at 11:35/10:35c on @abcnetwork! #Kimmel I can’t wait! @sum41”
While the group has already released a track from each side of the double album—”Landmines” from Heaven, which also served as the leading single for the album launch, and “Rise Up” from the Hell side—they opted to perform the kickoff track “Landmines” on Jimmy Kimmel. The song serves as an evident nod to their younger selves, stirring memories of their rise to fame with breakout hits such as “Fatlip” and “In Too Deep.”
