Following the release of “Shakes,” Luke Hemmings is back with a new track and visualizer set to appear on his upcoming boy EP, “Close My Eyes.” The 5 Seconds Of Summer frontman last shared a full solo record in 2021 with When Facing The Things We Turn Away From featuring hit track “Starting Line.”

“I’m elated to share the next chapter from boy—a song called ‘Close My Eyes.’ I wrote this as I headed into my late 20s and felt an unavoidable wave of fear and anxiety towards the inevitable death of my youth,” Hemmings shares.

“I found myself unable to sleep because every time I tried; it was as if a film of my life was projected onto the back of my eyelids. The mistakes, successes, everything that could have been, and everything that was. I felt physical growing pains of becoming a fully realized version of myself while having to say goodbye to the past.”

In the synth-laced offering, Hemmings haunting voice echoes through each verse and silkily cascades into an introspective chorus. Be prepared to get into your feels, especially if you’re an elder emo. Check out the “Close My Eyes” visualizer below.
