Brooklyn-based artist Jhariah is back with a brand-new single “PIN-EYE.” Self-described as “NO GENRE, ALL DRAMA,” Jhariah draws inspiration from a wide array of acts including Dua Lipa and Remi Wolf all the way to Daft Punk and Gorillaz.
Listeners may catch the jazzy, big band feel of a gospel choir à la Kirk Franklin, too. The wildly energetic melody unleashes a delicious barrage of belts, yearning choruses, and impressive falsetto. “Oh why do I beg my legs to take me/Much farther than they were meant to/I plead in vain these bleeding hands might reach for you,” Jhariah sings.
Believe it or not, this sheer magnum opus took the artist five years to finish, highlighting the major pitfalls of Catholicism—the glorification of suffering, if you will. Check out the full track and fiery music video below.
“Even though I’m not religious myself, growing up spending most of life in Catholic School, I’ve been conditioned to endure pain and hardship,” Jhariah says of the new track. “I always grew up being taught to pray for resilience, patience, and strength, but never comfort. I was taught you should never covet, which is really what drives this song.”

Beyond “PIN-EYE,” Jhariah also released a 50-second prelude for the track entitled “COLLARBONE,” which can also be heard in the music video. In a dynamic, ever-so-rousing vocal run, they immediately grab your attention with effortless appeal. “Overwhelming pressure burdens my frame/I don’t think it was ever built to carry this much weight,” Jhariah sings, as the instrumentals swell. Check out “COLLARBONE” below.
The “RISK, RISK, RISK!” singer will be heading out on The Tooth Pact Tour. Supporting acts include PIAO, Yasmin Nur, and Save Face.
