Ahead of the release of their upcoming LP with you in spirit, Balance And Composure dropped the latest single from the album “any means.”

The track is the fourth single from the upcoming release following “cross to bear,”  “sorrow machine,” and “believe the hype.” Leading up to the release, Jack Appleby noticed an interesting post to tease the new song. The band posted a photo of a single New Balance shoe ahead of the drop to say that new Balance And Composure content was coming.

Like its predecessors, “any means” features melodic post-punk vibes balanced by sincere lyricism as Jon Simmons reflects on grief and how it affected his life. “Getting stoned to the bone downing sedatives?/Any cure. Any means. What it takes/It’s time to compensate, don’t pay no mind/No time to hesitate now where ya been?/I wanted everything that fell under the sun.”

Despite the heavy themes featured on the upcoming full-length, Simmons says writing with you in spirit was a cathartic experience.

“I began to feel like a kid again,” he explains. “We were writing these songs for the pure reason of having an outlet and getting together with your friends, no pressure.”

He continues, “We were longing for it, and we found it as soon as we got together. We didn’t want that train to stop.”
