BABYMETAL Share New Statement Track “METALI!!”

Despite releasing a new album earlier this year, BABYMETAL are already kicking off a new era. That’s because shortly after THE OTHER ONE dropped, they revealed a new member of the band. MOMOMETAL, who had previously been a part of the band’s backup dancers The Avengers, was revealed as the band’s third member back in April. They then shared a live performance of “Mirror Mirror” as a way to show what their new line-up looked and felt like. But not, we have the first piece of music from them, fully solidifying what is sure to be a new and exciting chapter in their fascinating story.

That song is “METALI!!” and it is a monster. After THE OTHER ONE saw the band delving into new versions of themselves from different dimensions, this offering returns to the fun and fury that established them over the last decade. With traditional instrumentation clashing with crushing riffs, it’s pure moshpit fuel. But then there are the girls, dealing out some of their catchiest hooks and freshest choreography. And if that wasn’t enough, Tom Morello pops up and deals out some of his signature guitar wizardry.

It is a powerful statement from BABYMETAL, reminding everybody exactly why they are such a force within the modern metal stratosphere. Having the time of their lives whilst delivering some of their finest music to date. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Tom had this to say about his involvement in the song:

“I am a big fan of BABYMETAL, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. I’ve been trying to work with them for some time and when they sent me the demo of ‘METALI!!’ I knew I could rock that shit like crazy!”
