Spiritbox Dare To Open The “Cellar Door” On Stunning New Track

Spiritbox are turning up the pressure in a big way with their new track “Cellar Door“. The band are preparing to release their hotly-anticipated new EP The Fear of Fear on November 3 via Rise Records/Pale Chord. The follow-up to their experimentally brutal EP Rotoscope last year, it’s a release that represents another incredible milestone. Going from strength to strength and conquering everywhere they step foot, it’s a joy to watch such a fantastic band receive their reward for hard work and perseverance. We’ve already heard two tracks from the EP in the form of the spiralling “The Void” and the glorious “Jaded“. Both showcasing the more ethereal side of Spiritbox, “Cellar Door” reminds us that they are, first and foremost, a heavy band. So, strap in.

What makes Spiritbox so special is just how much both Courtney LaPlante and Mike Stringer commit to their individual roles. In terms of “Cellar Door“, the intensity and darkness that Mike injects into his instrumental is second to none. Dynamic from the very first second, leaping and bounding between metalcore fury and progressive heat, it is a sight to behold. Then there is Courtney, delivering guttural and terrifying howls like it is second nature. Her care and dedication to her craft, producing a vocal that ensnares as much as entices, is inspiring in every sense.

Put those two things together, and you have a masterclass in chaos. A song that feels like the end of the world in the most beautiful way possible. Technologically vast and brutally dense, Spiritbox continue to be a cut above the rest. When they are in the sort of form they are in right now; nobody can even think of stopping them.

Spiritbox are making new friends as we speak, serving as support for Shinedown across North America alongside Papa Roach. The tour is set to win up next week, but here are the remaining dates you can see them on.
