While attending the Hopeless Records 30th Anniversary event in Las Vegas, NV, at the Punk Rock Museum, Stand Atlantic chatted with idobi Radio about their newly released studio album, the rumors on the internet that vocalist Bonnie Fraser would be joining Linkin Park, and more.
Amid intense speculation earlier this year about who might step in as Linkin Park’s new vocalist, Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley became one of the most talked-about contenders. Whibley—who attended the event as well as Fraser—were both widely rumored to be a potential artist to carry on Chester Bennington’s legacy with the legendary band.

“It was like a double feeling,” Fraser explains. “It was crazy that people were even considering that I would get offered to do that. And I was like, ‘Damn, that’s kinda nice, I guess. Thanks, guys.’ But also…I think Emily [Armstrong] is a great choice, though. I feel like it’s really cool, and I’m glad they chose a woman, to be honest. I think that’s good of them.”
She continues, “People ask me about this all the time, and the whole thing is so crazy. I can’t even fathom the fact that that’s even a thing anyone brings up to me or that that even happened or that it was a problem in my life at any point. That is crazy to me.”
“Can I do a little exclusive?” Miki Rich chimes in. “It did become a bit of a problem because it got a bit wild. We actually got an email from Linkin Park being like, ‘Can you please address this rumor and say this is not true cause it’s getting out of hand?’”
