Distillers drummer Andy Granelli launched a verbal assault on Australian rockers Jet during an interview with the Ottawa Sun Thursday (April 1). While admitting that the Distillers aren’t the “most original” or “best” band in the world, Granelli blurted, “I don’t know how these crappy cover bands posing as new bands, like Jet or Kings Of Leon can take themselves seriously…(Jet) have that new single out now and you can count on one hand all the different songs in that one song. If it weren’t for Good Charlotte filling in three dates for Garbage, it could have been called the Just a Girl tour. Three of the hardest-rocking women in music will join forces when their bands – No Doubt, Garbage and the Distillers – hit the road together in October. Pop-punkers Good Charlotte will take Garbage’s spot for the first three dates, before Shirley Manson and her cohorts hit the tour October 15 in West Kingston, Rhode Island. Today, When We Were Young Festival 2024 tickets went on sale and almost immediately sold out. Luckily, the festival already announced they are adding a second day and you can sign up for the waitlist. Head here to add your name to the waitlist for October 20. The artist lineup for When We Were Young Fest 2024 just expanded to include the iconic Hey Monday, who will be playing Hold On Tight in full. Lead vocalist Cassadee Pope shared the news on November 15 via Instagram with the caption, “We’re coming home! Hey Monday are playing “Hold On Tight” in its entirety at the EPIC @whenwewereyoungfest 2024!!! As if we weren’t still riding the high of When We Were Young Fest 2023, the iconic festival will be returning to its homestead in Las Vegas, NV, on October 19 for When We Were Young 2024.
