twenty one pilots are officially taking Clancy global with the announcement of The Clancy World Tour kicking off on August 15 in Denver, CO. The pair has also unveiled their highly-anticipated latest offering, “Next Semester,” serving as the second glimpse into their upcoming full-length album set to arrive on May 17 through Fueled By Ramen. Keeping things cryptic, twenty one pilots are teasing their next single, “Next Semester,” off of their forthcoming full-length, Clancy. The duo posted on their Instagram two photos showcasing, presumably, vocalist Tyler Joseph’s legs and drummer Josh Dun’s arm resting on a cymbal, along with a “leaked” video snippet of a crowd while they perform the song. The preview of it gives an air of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” vibe with dulled-out imagery partnered with moshing. “I don’t wanna be here,” sings Joseph to the crowd as they scream it back for the perfect harmony. This week I have drummer and a good friend over 2 decades: Gary Foster. Gary was one of the first drummers I met when I was on the Warped Tour 2002(fresh out of high school) and I got to meet his bass player Ronnie Ficarro who would eventually go on to do 4 different projects with me in the coming years. We talk about how Gary got his start, how we met, what he’s been able to accomplish in music and everything else in between. I’m so stoked that he and I are still active drummers after all these years.
On this week’s show Jaret and Gary catch up with legendary frontman Tony Lovato from MEST as they share their love for all things edible and talk about the tricky balancing act between being a rockstar and becoming a Dad.
This week I have singer/songwriter from the band Mest, he and I go back over 21 years, I met him for the first time in Texas when I was on a tour in 2002 that an old band of mine had booked themselves, and we met him in the parking lot after we had one of our self booked shows get canceled. We ended up talking and would see each other throughout the years, fast forward time and we became friends and I even got to fill in for Mest at a show in LA. I interview him to see how he started out in Illinois all the way to today.
