On June 13, Foo Fighters premiered “Unconditional” for lucky attendees of their Emirates Old Trafford show in Manchester, England. However, the song is, by no means, “new.” In fact, it’s an unreleased demo that was never fully realized. A band representative noted, “The band’s rediscovery of ‘Unconditional’ happened in true spontaneous Foo Fighters fashion. The song came up in conversation during rehearsals for the UK tour, and all it took was one run-through. Militarie Gun has teamed up with Manchester Orchestra to rework their track, “My Friends Are Having A Hard Time.” The collaboration is off of the fast-rising Los Angeles group’s incoming EP, Life Under The Sun, and comes out on January 26 via Loma Vista. Hardcore punk outfit Turnstile has announced a few changes to their upcoming stint in the UK, which will mark their “only UK show this year” according to the band. Turnstile was initially scheduled to headline London’s O2 Academy Brixton on May 30. Unfortunately, following the fatal events on December 15, 2022, which has been described as a “crowd crush” that left 8 people hospitalized and 2 people tragically passed away, the venue has remained closed. If you were at The 1975’s show in Manchester, we’re jealous of you. Beyond the obvious reason, the band performed their debut album. Fans in attendance had no idea it was coming and if we were there, we would have felt all the emotions. This was a more intimate show than we’ve seen from the band while they’ve been on tour in support of their new album, Being Funny in a Foreign Language. Manchester Orchestra released a new album today, titled ‘Hope’. The album is a re-imagined companion to April’s debut of COPE and features the same track list in a softer setting. The band will also tour to support ‘Hope’ late this fall.
With running themes, allusions, and a distinct motif of the supernatural, Cope is definitely an album you want to have tucked away high on your shelf for years to come.
