Rivalry between Detroit artists was quashed by late D12 member Proof, says Violent J. “The beef we had with him was 11 years ago,” Shaggy 2 Dope explained. “That’s like beefing with somebody in high school and going to your 20th high school reunion, and you still have heat with that kid?”
Insane Clown Posse, the Detroit rap duo beloved by teenage boys for their creepy face make-up and X-rated lyrics, have been named the worst band ever by Blender magazine. The music publication’s September issue said Insane Clown Posse “sound even stupider than they look,” and derided them for rapping about “40-ouncers and venereal disease.” Officials at the band’s Psychopathic Records label were less than enthusiastic about the rating. “They’ve brought themselves up from nothing to become an international musical phenomena (sic), and yet, somehow, they still get no respect from fine mainstream publications such as Blender Magazine,” they said in… Read more »
The feud between Eminem and the Insane Clown Posse appears to have led to another violent incident, this time involving a road manager for the Clowns and an Eminem fan in Nebraska. The road manager, William Dail, allegedly choked the Eminem fan until he blacked out after the clown-faced rappers’ show in Omaha on Tuesday, May 8, police said. Dail admits to holding 23-year-old Thomas P. Goonan by his neck and throwing him against a wall but denies the fan lost consciousness. At this year’s Riot Fest, a manifold of performers showed up and showed out at the Chicago-based punk festival. From Taylor Acorn and Death Cab For Cutie to Sleep Token and Death Grips, there was a fabulous set for every kind of alternative fan. Of course, the fest closed out with a 2.5-hour, career-spanning headline performance from The Cure on Sunday, September 17.
