The Used set to release 'Artwork'

The Used is proud to announce that its fourth album, Artwork, will be released on Sept. 1. Produced by Matt Squire, Artwork is a raw collection of 11 songs that not so delicately teeter between aggressively discordant and charmingly hooky. The first single, “Blood On My Hands,” premiered June 30; it sold over 5,000 copies in the first day and shot to No. 9 on the iTunes Alternative Chart. “‘Blood on my Hands’ sums up everything about The Used,” guitarist Quinn Allmann said. The single is confined chaos, brutally thrashing one moment and proffering a pop-driven, sing-along chorus the next.… Read more »

Blink-182’s 'Rock Show' history in photos

“We played music together and we decided we’re going to play music together again,” Travis Barker told the Grammy audience when Blink-182 reunited to present the Best Rock Album award Sunday night. For Blink, it was their first time onstage together since December 2004, two months before the band went on an indefinite hiatus. Now that the band has confirmed a new album is in the works, Rolling Stone is taking a look back at their history in a new photo gallery: Blink-182’s Rock Show. Blink-182 formed in 1992 in Poway, California, but it wasn’t until 1998 that guitarist Tom… Read more »

Gabe Saporta on drinking, surgery, new album

Three years ago, Cobra Starship weren’t even a band. Two years ago, they weren’t one either, but at least things were beginning to happen. Gabe Saporta – tired of watching his band Midtown being mired in the major-label quagmire – began writing songs on his own, under the name of Cobra Starship (apparently borrowed from a brand of vintage jackets). Somewhere along the way, he got tapped to write the theme song for the Samuel L. Jackson flick “Snakes on a Plane,” which became the first official Cobra release. Since then, they’ve released two full-lengths, kicked out a keytar player… Read more »

All-American Rejects Seek 'World' Acceptance

About two months before the release of his band's third studio album, "When the World Comes Down," All-American Rejects singer/bassist Tyson Ritter is spending most of his free time drinking beer and engaging in kite-flying wars on the beaches of Northern Florida. "I've been getting completely hammered and enjoying myself," Ritter says from his home in Destin, Florida. "I'm 24 and I know I'm not going to be able to do this s–t when I'm 50. Sometimes you've got to live." The All-American Rejects frontman has reason to enjoy his time off. In the two years since the release of… Read more »

Anberlin's New Surrender Debuts at #13

Epic pop-rock trailblazers Anberlin may have titled their new CD New Surrender, but the Florida rockers have established a take-no-prisoners trajectory when it comes to storming the gates of Billboard’s Top 200, snagging one of the more solid new entry positions this week with their major label debut coming in at #13. The band also snatched the #5 spot the Top Current Rock chart selling over 36,000 copies its first week. The CD is a dynamic and dexterous follow-up to the band’s previous album, Cities, which debuted on the Billboard Album chart at #19. The group has also launched their… Read more »

Travis Barker in the remix

With his spiky mohawk, cluttered canvas of tattooed skin and punk rock pedigree stretching back to childhood, Travis Barker isn’t exactly pleading to be taken seriously as a hip-hop head. A former drummer for the multi-platinum-selling power pop trio Blink-182 who also has done turns behind the kit for rock outfits including the Aquabats, +44 and Box Car Racer, he boasts impeccable Warped Tour credentials and critical props as one of modern rock’s most exciting, exacting percussion players. But a funny thing happened when Barker posted a video of himself on YouTube last September drumming thunderously in time with Southern… Read more »
