Last week we published our official top albums of 2013 list, featuring everyone from The Wonder Years and Fall Out Boy to The 1975 and Vampire Weekend. Lots of complicated math and science were involved in calculating the final list, but we thought we’d let you have a look at all of our individual staff lists as well.
Check out my interview with Echosmith – who really started gaining some exposure after they did all of Warped Tour this past summer – and survived! Warped is never an easy experience and for a young band, they got a lot of attention and now they’re on tour with our buddies in Tonight Alive and others. Definitely learn this band and pick up their album, it’s ballin.
The band is currently working on a new album, due out in the spring of 2014.

Little Rock, Arkansas indie-pop project joan, aka Alan Benjamin Thomas and Steven Rutherford, are dreaming—”lucid dreaming,” that is. On March 18, mgk shared “your name forever,” a touching song and music video honoring his late friend Luke “The Dingo” Trembath. Trembath, known for being a professional snowboarder, passed in February 2025 at 38. On March 7, mgk took to Instagram to share a message. He said, “Crazy…I didn’t even cry this hard when my dad died. I’ve lost a lot of friends, but I’ve never lost a brother. We’ll never get another Dingo on this planet.
