While wrapping up their Eras Tour run with Taylor Swift, Paramore received some cool news. According to ChartMasters, the “Hard Times” band ranks as the 20th most-streamed rock act on Spotify. Speaking on the news, Hayley Williams took to Instagram to post a story. She says, “We are one of only two bands that include women in the Top 20 of all time. Of course I’m beyond honoured, but in my lifetime I hope to see more women, more LGBTQ+, and black/brown talent on this list. Spotify is chock-full of good alternative playlists, ranging from The New Alt and ALT NOW all the way to Feel-Good Indie Rock and Walk Like Badass. Now, the streaming platform is introducing a new rock playlist entitled MARROW. Showing off how “rock never dies,” Spotify has unleashed an entire trailer with big industry names to showcase the new playlist. Canadian alt-rockers, The Beaches have dropped a brand new single today, “Blame Brett” and announced their forthcoming sophomore LP Blame My Ex due out September 15th. The new track is extremely cheeky to say the least. The Beaches give a new perspective to the break-up anthem by being equally parts funny, mournful, and scathing. They sing “So sorry in advance / Before you take off your pants / I wouldn’t let me meet your friends / I wouldn’t let me near your dad”.
