Album Review: For The Fallen Dreams – For The Fallen Dreams

“Let go of your idols to discover the unknown. When we leave this world, have to do it on our own.  Pass the torch to be born again. Searching through the discord, swallowed by your sin.” Metalcore is having somewhat of a renaissance in recent years. More and more genre-specific festivals are popping up while long-standing bands in the scene are jumping in with exciting new records. This Friday, For The Fallen Dreams put their mark on the modern era with their self-titled seventh LP. Coming from Arising Empire Records, For The Fallen Dreams boasts a classic metalcore backbone with… Read more »

Dave Grohl is the Best Human Pt. 2

Dave Grohl warmed our hearts last week when we saw that he dedicated himself to serving food to those impacted by severe storms in Los Angeles. Turns out his work isn’t done and he will be doing the same with Feed The Streets LA. The organization posted on their Instagram today to make the announcement of a bit of a partnership. The band was instrumental in the post-hardcore movement 20 years ago when their debut album Page Avenue dropped. With their catchy choruses, explosive riffs, emotional lyrics, and a true blend of multiple genres, Story of the Year went… Read more »

Album Review: Beach Weather – Pineapple Sunrise

“I don’t know where you begin but it’s where I wanna end” Is there anything better than a beloved band returning after years away and delivering a no-skip album? I don’t think so—and apparently, Beach Weather agrees. Formed in 2015 and releasing two (excellent) EPs before going on hiatus in 2017, Beach Weather—Nick Santino, Reeve Powers, and Sean Silverman—re-emerged in late 2021 and now they’re officially back with their debut full-length, Pineapple Sunrise.  Before we get any further, I have to confess that I’ve been a Nick Santino stan (a Stantino, if you will) since I started listening to his… Read more »
