Pittsburgh has seen one of the worst winters in history this year, but the pelting snow did not stop the city’s punk-rock kids from gathering to celebrate New Found Glory’s 10-year anniversary of its self-titled effort Friday.
If it were NBA awards season, the sixth man award could have easily gone to the sold-out Starland Ballroom crowd Monday night, which sang every word from the opening band to the evening’s closer, “My Friends Over You.â€
Despite frigid temperatures, fans lined up as early as noon Sunday before sold-out headliner New Found Glory rocked Boston, commemorating the 10th anniversary of its self-titled debut album.
Punk rock group New Found Glory has called time on its major-label career and signed a new deal with Epitaph Records. Its debut for the indie label, produced by former Blink-182 member Mark Hoppus, is due next spring. The Florida-reared group signed to Drive-Thru in 2000, but found its biggest success after parent label MCA took over with 2002’s “Sticks & Stones,” which has sold more than 863,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
