We’ve heard the singles and read the explanations of it being a “celebration of depressionâ€. Still, after months of anticipation, no one could have predicted that the same guys who viciously spat out “Pray For Plague†nearly ten years ago would be the same guys taking over the music world across a multitude of genres and platforms.
New Jersey melodic hardcore four-piece Elite have a new single out and idobi is stoked to be premiering its brand new music video for you.
The Alternative Press Music Awards is making its second annual appearance this year in Cleveland on July 22nd. Because I grew up in Cleveland, I had the privilege of watching many of this year’s APMAs nominees perform live early on in their careers. Some of these bands have been a part of my life since I was 13, while others are a bit newer to me. When I think about all of the journeys I’ve taken with them as people, and to see them perform live–just in this city alone–I can’t help but feel a sense of pride about where… Read more »

We try not to get carried away with industry talk but Torche should be commended for superb timing with the December release of “Minions”, the first single from Restarter out this week. Relapse Records took advantage of the music industry’s slowest season and the track kicked around Howl’s playlist for three months since. The Agonist continues to rip with Eye of Providence, their first effort with vocalist Vicky Psarakis. The band was on the rise before Arch Enemy recruited Alissa White-Gluz in 2014. “Gates of Horn and Ivory” proves The Agonist hasn’t lost a step and can compete with the… Read more »
Even if you’re convinced that a band changing their sound is the worst thing that’s ever happened to you, it’s perfectly natural for someone’s music to develop and shift from album to album. But every once in a while, those shifts are so dramatic that the early work ends up sounding like it was released by an entirely different band than the more recent material.
We’re extremely excited to bring you an idobi Howl premiere in the form of The Body Politic’s brand new EP, Egressor. To be officially released on September 16th, you can stream out the six-song EP below.
