Kurt Cobain fans are closer to Nirvana than they have been in years. A studio version of the unreleased Nirvana track “You Know You’re Right” has surfaced online in its entirety. The song, which was reportedly recorded in January 1994, less than three months before frontman Cobain took his own life with a shotgun in his Seattle home, is expected to a appear on the long-awaited Nirvana greatest-hits album, which, according to Courtney Love, is due by Christmas. Following waning U.S. album sales, Oasis should probably call on high for divine inspiration. Instead, the perverse Brits are naming their fifth record Heathen Chemistry. The album will come out in July, and the first single, “Hindu Times” – part of which sounds like a psychedelic spin-off of Robert Palmer’s “Addicted to Love” – will be released to radio in the next two weeks. If last year’s inaugural Rolling Rock Town Fair was the beta edition, this year’s event, billed as Rolling Rock Town Fair 2.0, definitely was an improved version -logistically, at least. Musically, it could be argued that, while Saturday’s headliners Live and Stone Temple Pilots really delivered, they were no match for last year’s Moby and the Red Hot Chili Peppers combo.
