Avril Lavigne is sending a subtle message to Metallica, Linkin Park and other groups who have pulled their music off Apple’s iTunes recently – Let Go. While several artists have distanced themselves from the online music store because it makes tracks available individually, the Canadian singer is supporting the new service by giving iTunes an exclusive live EP. U2 frontman Bono spoke adamantly about the need to step up efforts to combat world poverty, threatening to wage a civil disobedience campaign, at the launch of the United Nations’ Human Development Report in Dublin. A U2 album of all-new material could arrive by next summer, according to the band’s guitarist, the Edge. Speaking with Ireland’s Hot Press magazine, the guitar player, whose real name is Dave Evans, said the group plans to have a new album completed and in stores by mid-2003. Travis Cancel Gigs After Drummer Injured


Scottish pop group Travis said on Wednesday they had canceled four European concerts after drummer Neil Primrose suffered a suspected spinal injury in a French swimming pool accident. Primrose was knocked unconscious after striking his head on Sunday while relaxing in the pool following a concert at Belfort in eastern France, the band said in a statement. He was taken by ambulance to hospital, where early indications suggested he had a fractured vertebra. European Ozzfest Cut Short By Departure Of Ozzy's Guitarist


The final seven dates of the European Ozzfest tour have been canceled after guitarist Zakk Wylde departed due to illness.
