Dear Producers of all things Pop-Punk,
This year there are only two things I want for Christmas,
We’re exactly one week from Christmas, and if you weren’t already caroling from the rooftops, we have just the track to get you there. Austin songstress Malia Grace is premiering her version of “The Christmas Song” here on idobi Radio. Chase and I really enjoyed recording this song and are really happy with how it came out–also slightly shocked we were able to get a good take pretty quickly! I always love collaborating with good friends, and the holidays are the perfect time to come together and make something magical. Originally performed by Nat King Cole, and covered countless times… Read more »
For Christmas this year, I don’t want the Nintendo DS I asked for when I was twelve, or the sled I wanted when I was five. All I want is to bring the whole world joy—in the form of a collaboration between the most badass females in the alternative music scene.
This year for Christmas I want you to tell us your name. Your husband has a different moniker for every continent: St. Nick, Father Christmas, Santa, Père Noel, Kris Kringle. You’d think he’s wanted for credit card fraud with all these pseudonyms. Wait.
For Christmas, I would like just a few things. I wish you would record a version of “Far Too Young To Die†with Halsey. The dark dance beat goes perfectly with her style of music. After that, you could team up for a version of her song “Gasolineâ€.
Let me start this letter off by commending you for the many things you have given us this year. Your efforts haven’t gone unappreciated. But, as it is the Christmas season, I feel there is something special you have been holding out on that would warm our frozen toes and help start 2016 off with a bang. That one thing: Punk Goes Disney.
I’m not ashamed to say that I still listen to the same music that I listened to ten years ago. The only difference is that back then, most of the music I listened to came from you. What I want for Christmas is fairly simple, I’d love for you to be the go-to indie record label again. I long for the days of Taking Back Sunday, Spitalfield, The Forecast, and Thursday.
If you’re looking for a Christmas song to croon to an absent paramour this holiday season, look no further than “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)â€.
So, I hear you guys are doing a world tour together next year for the citizens of earth. Sounds like you’ll be spending quite a lot of time together—on stage, on planes, during (un)comfortably long van drives, pranking each other. Even though you haven’t announced the North American leg of the tour (yet), it’s a match that pop punkers everywhere are pining over—myself included.
