After 22 years together, Derek Grant, the drummer of Alkaline Trio, has parted ways with the band. Just one week out from the glorious return of Bamboozle Festival after a 10-year hiatus, the festival has announced its decision to cancel the May 5-7 event. This year’s 2023 fest would mark Bamboozle Festival’s 20th anniversary and had scheduled performances from some of the largest names across an array of genres. At the end of 2021, 5 Seconds of Summer hosted a tenth anniversary celebration coined “The 5 Seconds of Summer Show“. Tragedy shook the metal community this past Friday evening when the roof of the Apollo Theatre in Belvidere, IL collapsed during a show. At the time, the venue was hosting Morbid Angel, Revocation, Crypta, and Skeletal Remains for the “United States Tour of Terror.” While the featured acts were between sets, a tornado ripped through the area and consequently, the venue. Following the disaster, more than 40 concert-goers were left injured and one victim tragically passed away.
