At this year’s Riot Fest, a manifold of performers showed up and showed out at the Chicago-based punk festival. From Taylor Acorn and Death Cab For Cutie to Sleep Token and Death Grips, there was a fabulous set for every kind of alternative fan. Of course, the fest closed out with a 2.5-hour, career-spanning headline performance from The Cure on Sunday, September 17. This week I have long time friend T.J. Petracca, one of the co founders of popular club night “Emo Nite.” What makes this episode special to me is we grew up in the same town of Park City, UT experiencing the same things, I had already moved to California when T.J. would be experiencing his love for Emo, and Punk Rock. I hear his story on how he was able to build an empire and how he’s been able to help so many bands get attention throughout the years.
