Following the release of their new record Only God Was Above Us in the spring of 2024, Vampire Weekend headed on the road to play new tracks and indie-rock favorites. On recent tour dates, the act has been using their encore to play much more than their beloved hit, “Walcott.” The artists have been taking cover requests and playing through the verses and choruses they can. While wrapping up their Eras Tour run with Taylor Swift, Paramore received some cool news. According to ChartMasters, the “Hard Times” band ranks as the 20th most-streamed rock act on Spotify. Speaking on the news, Hayley Williams took to Instagram to post a story. She says, “We are one of only two bands that include women in the Top 20 of all time. On July 14, Creeper played a massive headline show at Portsmouth Guildhall with support from Zetra and The Nightmares. The band played a whopping 20-song set including “Cyanide” and “Cry To Heaven” as well as a special cover of The Killers‘ “Mr. Brightside.” Of course, the crowd was immediately into the rendition of the iconic alternative track. Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley has announced that he’ll be releasing a memoir. Aptly titled Walking Disaster: My Life Through Heaven And Hell, after different songs from the pop-punker’s popular act, the book will be released on Oct. 8 via Gallery Books. Fans can pre-order a copy of the book here. Whibley posted the announcement on his Instagram, saying he is “extremely honored and excited” about this opportunity. This comes after the Canadian act’s statement that they will disband later this year.
