idobi Howl Featured Playlist – Week of March 23rd, 2015

We are usually skeptical about the influence of sponsors in underground metal and hardcore but we suspend our criticism when Game Of Thrones is involved. HBO is serving Killswitch Engage-flavored Kool Aid and we are shamelessly drinking every last drop. The extended version of “Loyalty” has the audio from this unforgettable scene (spoiler alert) in season 4. In all honesty, the song itself is much heavier than we expected. Along with Sabbath, Maiden and Zombie, the main stage will also include Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall and Ozzfest regulars Zakk Wylde’s Black… Read more »

Mudvayne Lose The Makeup, Find Inspiration In Isolation

Mudvayne frontman Chad Gray is sick. Sick with the flu. Sick of sitting on a cramped tour bus. And sick of his bandmates interrupting his interview. “Dude, can I get, like, one f–ing minute to myself?” he yelled in between bouts of hacking coughs. “I mean, Greg [Tribbett, Mudvayne’s guitarist] is back here on the bus. Ryan [Martinie, Mudvayne’s bassist] is back here on the bus. Matt [McDonough, Mudvayne’s drummer] is back here in the bunk area! Jesus! “Sorry, they’re like my brothers. Sometimes we get pissed off at each other. Sometimes we can’t stand each other,” he laughed. “But… Read more »
