My Chemical Romance’s tour in support of its 2006 album “The Black Parade” forms the basis of “The Black Parade Is Dead!,” a CD/DVD package due June 24. The project was filmed October 7, 2007, at Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes, and October 24, 2007, at the tiny Maxwell’s in Hoboken, New Jersey. My Chemical Romance is a band that I’ve seen forever… literally since they were opening for Midtown or playing shows with Senses Fail and Reggie back in the day… I’ve been able to see them go from playing at the Troc in Philly, to headlining Madison Square Garden. The Black Parade times may be over, but the music continues on… most notably, with Frank Iero.
If The Black Parade was My Chemical Romance’s take on the 1970’s over the top opera rock concept album, then Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys is the band’s attempt at recreating the 1980’s synth laden rock and roll.
Billboard just hosted their No. 1 2024 Party on November 18, and music’s biggest stars from all genres shared a few exciting notes about current and upcoming projects. The From Zero World Tour launches in January 2025, including festival appearances at Sick New World, Sonic Temple, and Welcome to Rockville. In a moment that has started to gain attention on TikTok, Y2K artist Middle Part posted a now semi-viral video on August 1, 2024, in which they allegedly overheard My Chemical Romance rehearsing their 2004 breakout single “I’m Not Okay (I Promise).” The track appears on the group’s album Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, which celebrated its 20 year anniversary in June.
