The self-titled, TENACIOUS D, was produced by the Dust Brothers and recorded at The Boat and Neil Diamond’s ArcAngel studio in Los Angeles, California. Some friends of The D pitched in with special ass-kicking appearances: Dave Grohl, Page Mcconnell from Phish, Warren Fitzgerald from the Vandals, and Steve McDonald from Redd Kross. Butch Waugh has been promoted to executive vp at RCA Label Group RLG/Nashville. He will report to label group chairman Joe Galante. Waugh most recently was senior vp and general manager at RLG. His promotion marks the first executive post created at the label group. Waugh’s new responsibilities include overseeing promotion, artist development, media, sales, creative and label development for all of RLG’s imprints, including Arista Nashville, BNA Records and RCA Records.
