Epic Records Announces D-Day Is Coming September 25, 2001

The wait is over! Epic recording artists, Tenacious D will release their debut album on September 25th, 2001.

The self-titled, TENACIOUS D, was produced by the Dust Brothers and recorded at The Boat and Neil Diamond’s ArcAngel studio in Los Angeles, California. Some friends of The D pitched in with special ass-kicking appearances: Dave Grohl, Page Mcconnell from Phish, Warren Fitzgerald from the Vandals, and Steve McDonald from Redd Kross.

TENACIOUS D will include longtime concert favorites such as “F

Her Gently,” Jack’s song for the ladies and instruction guide for the fellas, “Lee”, a homage to their favorite roadie and current Tenacious D webmaster, “Tribute” a tribute to the greatest song in the world, as well as new tunes penned specially for the album.

The hardest working band in show biz will hit the road this Fall to bring the mind blowing sounds of The D to a stadium near you. “Playing live has always been special to Kyle and I. Now the fans can enjoy us in the privacy of their very own cd player,” says Jack.

You’ve seen their HBO show, you’ve seen them live, now you can enjoy The D’s debut CD and hear for yourself what tens of millions of people have been talking about…

Tenacious D is Jack Black and Kyle Gass.
