Motion City Soundtrack is at it again with its fourth studio full-length album, My Dinosaur Life, the first released under its contract with Columbia Records. The band is set to embark on tour in support of the album with Set Your Goals, This Providence and The Swellers.
Vic Chesnutt, the folk-rocker whose sometimes dark reflections on life were influenced in part by a car wreck that left him paralyzed, has died. He was 45.

SAN FRANCISCO/NEW YORK – Apple Inc has acquired digital music service Lala, as the dominant online music retailer explores new models for selling songs.
Relient K will embark this weekend on the Winter Wonder Slam tour with Christian hip hop legend and label owner Toby Mac. The tour will take the band north through Canada and down the West coast. You can purchase tickets on the tour’s website.
Floridian band Sleeping with Sirens has signed with Rise Records, the label reports. The band’s full-length debut, produed by Cameron Mizell, hits stores in March.
Despite Jay-Z’s best efforts, it looks as if Auto-Tune, the software that adjusts the pitch of a singer’s voice, isn’t destined for the graveyard after all. Instead, it’s headed to the iPhone. An application called “I Am T-Pain,” after the rapper who most recently popularized the Auto-Tune software with a liberal use of it in his songs, transforms the iPhone into an auto-tune microphone.
