One of the inspiring artists for the so-called, “emo,” scene or whatever one may want to call it was obviously Chris Carrabba. Being a fan of his from the days when he literally used to get booed off stage as he sat up there with an acoustic guitar – pre Swiss Army Romance days, to just the build up of performing on MTV’s Unplugged with R.E.M. to pretty much taking over a whole entire genre of music, Carrabba has done it all. Chris Carrabba is an artist that I grew up seeing play and listening to. From the early days of Further Seems Forever, to literally him being booed on stage during early Midtown / Dashboard shows, to the Victory Drive Thru Recs. drama to seeing him at the Unplugged performance for MTV. The guy has seen it all, and continues to pursue music – this time with a different feel that is, Twin Forks. Definitely check out the interview as it’s one of my favorites. The guy is genuine, which is rare these days in the industry.
