We all know that Ohio is for lovers, but Hawthorne Heights has set out to prove that it’s not just Ohio. After three editions of the festival hitting emo fans hard in 2022, Hawthorne Heights is bringing the “Is For Lovers Festival” to eight cities in 2023. This year’s event will visit Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, NV; Denver, CO; Manteo, NC; Council Bluffs, IA; Cincinnati, OH; Pelham, TN; and Mansfield, MA. Slowly the sheen of sweat on foreheads is being replaced by beanies as we move to a much needed autumn. Denver-based Bluprint has the perfect transitionary treat with “Home”, the first single off their upcoming Lost Summer EP. “Home” is a pop-punk jam that hits hard from the beginning and never lets up. I’m not ashamed to say that I still listen to the same music that I listened to ten years ago. The only difference is that back then, most of the music I listened to came from you. What I want for Christmas is fairly simple, I’d love for you to be the go-to indie record label again. I long for the days of Taking Back Sunday, Spitalfield, The Forecast, and Thursday.
