First live show in a few weeks so I had to have some good friends in to co-host! Had the Emo Nite LA crew in to LIVE co-host my show for the first time ever. The weekend’s biggest party was off the hizzy at 4 p.m. Saturday. More than 50,000 teenagers were crowd-surfing and moshing with their pushy, sweaty peers – and loving it. The HFStival rocked RFK Stadium with performances by the Offspring, Violent Femmes, Jay-Z, P.O.D. and the Cure, to name a few. The rock star anger, angst and edge vanished as soon as the musicians left the stage and entered the backstage Elephant Room. Back to host the MTV Video Music Awrds after a brief hiatus, Chris Rock said his decision to return was a matter of timing. “I was looking for the culture to change a little bit, and it did,” he said. He saluted past host Jimmy Fallon from “Saturday Night Live” and held out hope that another favorite comic of his eventually gets a chance to host. “Chris Tucker would be great doing this thing,” he said.
