Metal heavyweights System Of A Down‘s Serj Tankian and Rage Against The Machine‘s Tom Morello, alongside Morello’s guitarist son Roman, have unveiled a stunning collaboration, “Adjourn It.”

Tom says, “At this historical juncture, every act of art is an act of resistance and ‘Adjourn It,’ a collaboration with long-time friend Serj Tankian and my 15-year-old guitar wiz son Roman Morello, is a clarion call for justice in unjust times…Inspired by the persecution of immigrants across the land and the heroic resistance to the rising tide of fascism, it’s just about damn time to rock for freedom, justice, and equality.”

Tankian adds that it’s “a protest anthem against the continued barbarism leveled by ICE in the U.S., separating families, racial profiling, and in some cases killing. As a democracy, we should be offended that our own government has done this to our brothers and sisters trying, to provide a decent lifestyle for their families. There is smart immigration and naturalization policy, then there is this. Most of these cases would be adjourned by judges if given due legal process. Adjourn it!

Finally, Roman concludes, “I like to write riffs when I’m practicing by myself, and sometimes, my dad will listen at the door and poach the good ones. Then, when he’s writing a song, his motto is, ‘May the best riff win,’ and sometimes he’ll use one of his riffs, and sometimes he’ll use one of mine. The main riff in ‘Adjourn It’ is one of mine that we both agreed was the best riff.”

The Rage Against The Machine artist is set to appear on an array of international rock festivals ahead of his own recently announced Power To The People Festival in October, featuring Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, and even Jack Black. Check out the run below.
