Olivia Rodrigo Is Vevo’s First LIFT Artist of 2021

If you don’t know her name by now then you are about to learn it. Olivia Rodrigo has been named Vevo’s first LIFT artist of 2021. Along with kicking off their LIFT program this year, Rodrigo has released an exclusive performance of her hit song “deja vu” in collaboration with Vevo. JP Evangelista, SVP, Content, Programming and Marketing for Vevo said, “We’ve been watching Olivia’s rise since the highly anticipated music video release of ‘drivers license’ and we couldn’t wait to collaborate and create content with her. Hard-working and dedicated to her craft, we couldn’t think of a more deserving artist to kick off this year’s program. The truly unique visuals we created for these songs on film showcase Olivia’s talent to her fans in ways they haven’t seen before.”

Online publishing platform, Medium has launched #StopAsianHate, a blog dedicated to documenting the ongoing xenophobia and anti-Asian racism happening across the country. It will feature essays by members of the AAPI community that celebrate the many diverse cultures within it, as well as address racial identity, and the systems that aid in upholding racism. A few of the already published stories include one from data journalist Lam Thuy Vo called “The Term ‘Asian American’ Has an Impossible Duty” and another by fashion designer and activist Dao-Yi Chow calls for Asian Americans to interrogate their privilege. Editor, Michelle Woo encouraged members to participate by saying, “You can join the conversation, too. Simply publish on Medium using the tag “StopAsianHate” for a chance to be featured on the blog. (If you need some inspiration, we’ve got you covered).” She continued by adding, “Let’s take care of one another. If you ever witness anti-Asian harassment happening, here’s what to do.”
