Lights’ New Video for “We Were Here” is Gonna Set Your Day on Fire

If you need us at all today, we’ll be in the land of Madison Oasis with Lights’ new video. “We Were Here” is a foot-stomping explosion of sound from her concept album Skin&Earth—and now it’s got an intense video to match, featuring Lights’ husband Beau Bokan of Blessthefall. The video dives deep into the toxic drugged-out world of Skin&Earth’s creation for some breaking & entering, some, uh…pyrotechnics, and a whole lotta badassery. Lights says of the video:

“From the minute I wrote ‘We Were Here’ I couldn’t wait to draw that part of the comic,” Lights said. “And from the minute I drew that chapter, I couldn’t wait to make the video. This is a song about owning the time we have on earth, and the video captures that whole vibe perfectly.”

Need more Lights in your life? She’s got you: Catch her on her massive We Were Here headline US tour, with support from Chase Atlantic, Dear Rouge, and DCF. She’s also just released issue #1 of Skin&Earth’s accompanying comic and versions of “Giants” in various other languages! What are you waiting for? Get ready to run away into the night, yelling “We Were Here”…
