Following their return to the scene in 2024, the arrival of their 25-track B-Sides & Rarities collection in November, and a fresh take on “Dial Tones X” with Holding Absence’s Lucas Woodland, As It Is have done it again. Today, they have unveiled their reimagined rendition of “Sorry X” with Yours Truly frontwoman Mikaila Delgado. “‘Sorry’ was the first song we wrote for the Never Happy, Ever After back in early 2014,” the band shares. “We even played it live a handful of times before we recorded it and released it the following year.”

The band continues, “‘Sorry’ wouldn’t have sounded out of place on an early As It Is EP, and we were kind of able to write the rest of the record around it, in a way. It was never a single, but it was a fan favourite, a great live moment in the set, and its lyrics titled the record, so it’s always been a special song for the band and the album. Now, it’s getting its flowers, and the extraordinarily talented Mikaila Delgado brings so much to this track. Spending the afternoon in the studio with Mik, beaming while she sang these unreal runs and harmonies, it was an absolute blast. We’re so proud of this one and incredibly excited to be sharing another piece of the NHEAX puzzle.”

In addition to their fresh approach to “Sorry X” with Delgado, As It Is is set to release Never Happy, Ever After X, a reimagined version of their debut album, on April 18. The release will arrive nearly 10 years to the day following their 2015 release. This special edition features guest appearances from artists such as Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens, Tobi Duncan of Trash Boat, and more. You can preorder and pre-save the album here.
