As It Is just dropped a new teaser video on Instagram and TikTok sharing that they’re releasing a new version of “Dial Tones.” This time, the Never Happy, Ever After track contains a mystery featured guest artist.
The teaser video sees the song in its more mature form with refined pop-punk sonics—after all, it’s been an entire decade. (Insert crying emoji here.) Our best guess is that As It Is tapped Stand Atlantic to help refresh “Dial Tones” in 2025. In September 2024, Patty Walters joined Stand Atlantic onstage for a performance of “NOSE BLEED.” So, clearly, they were hanging out in late 2024. Additionally, in 2022, Bonnie Fraser covered for Walters on an As It Is tour date in Boston and was a powerhouse on “Dial Tones.” It only makes sense, TBH.
Additionally, some fans have been commenting that they are getting State Champs vibes and think Derek DiScanio will be announced soon. Of note, “Stand Atlantic” and “Derek DiScanio” both have the same amount of letters as question marks in the post.
We can verify that the collab is not with This Wild Life, as Kevin Jordan hilariously commented, “Not me seeing if Kevin Jordan fits those characters knowing full well it isn’t me.”
All will be revealed on January 17, the post notes.
