Waterparks Are “SNEAKING OUT OF HEAVEN” With New Track

Waterparks have picked up where they left off with their brand new track, “SNEAKING OUT OF HEAVEN.” It’s the first new music from the band since the release of their latest full-length INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. An album that continues to show that the band will never adhere to what people think they are. From the intense battery of “RITUAL” to the pop majesty of “FUCK ABOUT IT,” it showcased Waterparks at their most vibrant, vivacious and victorious.

However, when the teasing for “SNEAKING OUT OF HEAVEN” began, it appeared as though there may be a new era starting already. Gone was the deep red of the album, and in its place was a neon green. Even within Awsten Knight’s teasers of the track, the mood felt different. However, now that it has been released into the world, it looks like we are delving deeper into the frog era, with the song being added to the end of the album!

So, “SNEAKING OUT OF HEAVEN” finds Waterparks on their romantic streak once again. Like a cousin of “FUNERAL GREY,” it is a song built on infatuation and sensuality. It’s a song that bristles with the energy of falling head over heels for somebody you have just been entwined with. That feeling you cannot describe unless you’re going through it. Electricity and eccentricity in equal measure, it’s as cheeky as it catchy. With callbacks to “BRAINWASHED” and “Lowkey As Hell,” it’s a lyrical masterclass. Ebbing and flowing with flirty and fantastical imagery.

It’s another example of how unique a place the band have within the current alternative scene. Marching to their own beat and creating art that speaks to them first and foremost, 2023 will be put down as a huge victory. Who knows what is going to be coming next year? But whatever it is, it will be fascinating.

Waterparks are going to be appearing at When We Were Young next weekend (October 21/22), which idobi will be attending! You’re going to want to be tuned in all weekend, so make sure you are right here.
