VRSTY Release Ethereal New Track “The Plug”

VRSTY are the sort of band that shuns the idea of genre. Prodding and poking at whatever sound that they see fit, there is no limit to what they are capable of. From the most crushing of metalcore to the most tranquil of pop, they have a wide array of passions and talents to pull from. And that’s how songs like “The Plug”, their latest single, come about.

“The Plug” sits more on the ethereal and thoughtful side of the band’s repertoire. Combining Hot 100 levels of pop silkiness with the blistering flourishes that so often litter tech metal, it shows off the best of both worlds. Dreamy one minute, towering the next, it is a tale of falling for someone you know probably isn’t what you need. But the pull is too powerful, and you can’t resist the pain that it may cause.

Vocalist Joey Valera had this to say about it:

“‘The Plug’ was only the song that came to me naturally because I was literally living it as I was writing it. It’s about convincing yourself that you’re in love with the good in a person when in actuality, you’re addicted to the hell they bring into your life. They essentially become the dealer of all your problems and you can’t help but buy what they’re selling.”

VRSTY are currently out on the road with Secrets, For the Fallen Dreams, Outline in Color, and Nerv. You can catch them on these remaining dates:
