Softcult Share Beautifully Somber New Track “Heaven”

Softcult return on this beautiful December morning to gift fans with a brand new song, “Heaven.” A classically shoegaze-drenched tune, the duo comprised of twins Mercedes and Phoenix Arn-Horn add exciting elements of grunge rock and alternative indie into parts of the effort. Carried by gloomy verses and restrained vocals, the instrumentation explodes into something more cacophonous in the chorus. A song exploring the narrative of overcoming dysmorphia, it paints the picture of the idealistic utopian future that the two wish to soon be a reality.

Speaking on “Heaven”, Softcult shared, “This song describes a world where everyone is accepted for who they are, where one’s background or identity does not dictate how they are perceived by society, where privilege and advantages are recognized and shared to build stronger communities, and a society that celebrates diversity, difference, and otherness as strengths.”
