Silent Planet is in their A24 era with their new music video for their track, “SUPERBLOOM,” out via Solid State Records. The band says they were inspired by the horror flick Midsommar and the Heaven’s Gate cult when it came to the narrative. They also recruited actor Jenna Kanell, who starred in the first Terrifier movie.

“We decided to make a video around an alternate interpretation of our title track, ‘SUPERBLOOM,” the band says. “A bunch of our listeners came along as extras. We feel that this video is our best work to date, and wanted to release it now to start alongside our SUPERBLOOM headline tour.” The cinematography in the music video is dreamy and airy at first and slowly breaks down into a darkened mess of terror, anxiety, and questioning of morality. Kanell wears a flower crown in the opening clip while in a dark room, with flashing scenes of different people.

The mesmerizing guitar riff intro is similar to what horror fans might equate to a trance to pull a character into a peculiar situation. Throughout the video, we see Kanell go through a frightening exploration of finding a space in the world, but with a cost. While we can’t see this fully on the current Silent Planet tour, fans can at least envision it while going hard in the pit.

Last week, Silent Planet kicked off their SUPERBLOOM North American Tour 2024 tour in Portland, OR, with Thornhill, Johnny Booth, and Aviana. You can check out the band’s full touring schedule below and visit their site for tickets.
