Returning with their fourth studio album The Book of Broken Glass, marking their first new collection since 2020’s Good Gracious! Bad People, Sarah and the Safe Word are here to put on a show. Their cabaret-rock musings, a staple across their discography, culminate to create their finest masterpiece across the 13-track project.

The Book of Broken Glass opens with the theatrical “A Wake: Violet Makes Her Wish,” a short piano ballad that sets the tone of the album before leading into the blistering, anthemic “Ruby Off The Rails.” Across the record, lead vocalist Sarah Rose’s intoxicating growl and prowess act in full force. The record features previously released singles including “Sky On Fire” and “Old Lace.”

The album also showcases several collaborations including with Dog Park Dissidents on “…But Tonight We Dance!,” a surprise rap verse on “All The Rage” from Jamee Cornelia, and legendary act Chumbawamba, who the band has referenced as their “sister band,” on the anthemic “Soldiers of Rock N Roll.” Listen to Sarah and the Safe Word’s The Book of Broken Glass below.
