Pupil Slicer are one of the most vibrant bands currently making their way through the murky underground of UK heavy music. And their upcoming new album Blossom is set to demonstrate the yin and yang of their sound in the most uncompromising ways they can.
Here is the yang, which represents total fucking destruction. They have released a new track called “No Temple”, and it is heavy as all hell. A classic metalcore bludgeoning combined with the technical speed of mathcore, it is a total skull-crusher. From the devastating riffs to the tinnitus-inducing breakdown, it is desolation in its purest form.
Vocalist/ guitarist Kate Davis had this to say about it:
“The feedback we received for our first single has been overwhelmingly positive but let’s face it, not what a lot of people were expecting from a band named Pupil Slicer.
“Here is a sample from the opposite end of the musical range that Blossom encapsulates – No Temple is the heaviest song we’ve ever written.”
Blossom will be released on June 2nd via Prosthetic Records.
Kate had this to say about what the record represents:
“Blossom is a story that encapsulates a wide gamut of intense emotions and a rollercoaster of events over the 47-minute runtime. Likewise, the musical elements are also equally diverse whilst maintaining a cohesion to what’s going on at that point in the album.”
And here is the title track, showing off a different side of what to expect from the album:
