Rock’s royal family is officially back with their freshly revived ‘The Osbournes Podcast,’ which essentially acts as a spin-off of their early aughts television series, ‘The Osbournes.’
The first episode of the second season, which aired today on September 12, delves into the family’s rollercoaster ride over the past several years, including Jack and Kelly Osbourne’s ventures into parenthood. Additionally, the premiere episode highlights matriarchal leader Sharon Osbourne‘s journey to finding her voice during this time frame and features Ozzy Osbourne discussing his recent health struggles, including a botched spin surgery.
Over the past several years, the Prince of Darkness and his bandmates have faced numerous cancellations of performances and appearances due to the severity of his ongoing pain. In July 2023, just a few months before his scheduled appearance at the Power Trip Festival, Ozzy issued a statement detailing his decision to withdraw from the commitment and emphasized the importance of his body being fully prepared for a return to the stage.

“My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, and when the offer to do this show came in, I optimistically moved forward,” Ozzy shared. “Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet, and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed.”
Diving further into Ozzy’s recent health updates, which fans have been clamoring about for the last several years, the “Crazy Train” vocalist shares insight into his current physical condition and its implications for his eventual return to the stage. Introducing the subject, Jack emphasized, “I know you’re kind of sick of talking about it, but for people listening, where are you at with your health? How are you feeling?”
“I’m going for an epidural soon because what’s happening, what they’ve discovered is the neck has been fixed,” Ozzy shares. “But below the neck, there’s two vertebrae where the bus hit me [in the 2003 ATV accident] and disintegrated, there’s nothing left of ’em. So they’re going to pop a small rod in there…All I know is right now, I’m in a lot of pain, I’m in a lot of discomfort.”

Jack further questions his rock ‘n’ roll dad, clarifying that this will be surgery No. 4 that Ozzy will undergo in order to repair his neck and spin damage. Sharon also joined the discussion to explain to her children what Ozzy’s doctors have relayed to them, stating, “[The doctor] said, ‘Look, we don’t know if it’s going to work [or] if it’s not. We’re going to get a second and a third opinion.’ And he’s doing that now.”
