Rock’s royal family is officially back with their freshly revived ‘The Osbournes Podcast,’ which essentially acts as a spin-off of their early aughts television series, ‘The Osbournes.’ The first episode of the second season, which aired today on September 12, delves into the family’s rollercoaster ride over the past several years, including Jack and Kelly Osbourne’s ventures into parenthood. Additionally, the premiere episode highlights matriarchal leader Sharon Osbourne‘s journey to finding her voice during this time frame and features Ozzy Osbourne discussing his recent health struggles, including a botched spin surgery. Over the past several years, the Prince of Darkness… Read more »
If you can stomach it, check out the sneak preview of Osbournes: Reloaded, the Osbourne family’s return to television, above. Instead of showing the fascinating inner-workings of rock’s most bizarre family like MTV’s The Osbournes, this time Ozzy, Sharon, Jack and Kelly are the hosts of their own variety show, a mix of pranks, comedy skits and musical performances with hopefully lots and lots of commercials in between. We don’t watch Howie Mandel’s prank show Howie Do It, but we imagine it’s probably similar to this Osbourne debacle. In one sketch, Ozzy Osbourne plays the role of manning the drive-thru… Read more »
What’s that old saying – behind every great man there is an even greater woman? Well, that certainly seems to be the case with legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his manager/wife Sharon. Despite her aging husband’s drug addiction, hip problems and overall incoherence, Sharon Osbourne has kept the Ozzman’s feet firmly planted in the heart of the entertainment world. Aside from managing his hectic touring schedule, Sharon also finagled a reality-TV deal with MTV, allowing cameras to capture all the cursing, craziness, and, well, more cursing that fills the Osbourne home on a daily basis. Of course, the season is… Read more »
“The Osbournes” becomes a reality show in the bleakest sense this season, as Ozzy and the kids cope with matriarch Sharon Osbourne’s colon cancer. Yet as the second batch of episodes begins Tuesday, MTV also is trying to maintain the wackiness that made the series the network’s biggest hit. The heavy-metal rocker, his wife and two of their three children are very different people than they were when they opened their home to us a year ago – and opened the floodgates to a slew of copycats. They still spew plenty of profanities for the censors to bleep out. And… Read more »
The upcoming second season of The Osbournes will be its last. Sharon Osbourne reveals on a 20/20 segment airing Wednesday (November 6) that the clan is calling it quits after the new season. Osbourne sites the around-the-clock presence of cameras and changes in the family’s lifestyle as reasons for the pull-out. Osbourne tells 20/20 anchor Barbara Walters, “We agreed to do the show and so the cameras are here all the time, so it’s a little bit invasive right now and we have no privacy. You know, when you’re sick you want to be on your own. I can’t throw… Read more »
With the success of “The Osbournes,” Ozzy and his clan seem omnipresent. It feels like you can’t go anywhere without being exposed to something related to the offbeat family. As it is for Ozzy himself, your only refuge from the onslaught is the confines of your bathroom. However, soon even that sanctuary will be ripe for some Osbourne accoutrements. The family has signed a licensing agreement with San Francisco-based Signatures Network, which will usher everything from Osbourne backpacks and beach towels to cookie jars and cell phone covers into the marketplace in the coming months, according to company CEO Dell… Read more »
Godfathers of Britpop Oasis have joined the stars lining up for the fly-on-the-wall treatment made famous in the hit show “The Osbournes,” which followed rock singer Ozzy Osbourne and his family. Tour-bus footage of the famously foul-mouthed Gallagher brothers has already been released and singer-songwriter Noel Gallagher told music Web site nme.com he is also keen for cameras to film his domestic life. “That would be fantastic, but how would you have breakfast with the guy with that big furry thing (the microphone boom) and someone running around after him with the cable?” he was quoted as saying. MTV’s profanity-prone… Read more »
The drama behind the scenes of MTV’s white-hot reality comedy “The Osbournes” is starting to get almost as interesting as the show itself. America’s new favorite first family of television has signed with the Endeavor talent agency to help it explore a new deal for a possible second season of the show. While MTV has the production rights to future seasons, the music cablenetwork hasn’t locked up the services of the boisterous clan. While neither side is talking, industry insiders said the Osbournes are seeking a second season fee in the high seven figures – and perhaps even more, if… Read more »
Ozzy Osbourne has long been a favorite of hard rock and heavy metal fans, but now the TV show The Osbournes is giving heavy music’s first family a chance to show their lives to non-metal fans. The reality-based show focusing on family life is making Osbourne even more famous. Osbourne admitted that he is surprised by the show’s success. “I know all about the music scene, but this television thing has gotten me totally baffled. I don’t know how it works.” He added, “I was walking down the street last Saturday and people that normally wouldn’t stop me are freaking… Read more »
The boxes are stacked outside the Beverly Hills home, ready to be carried in. Each is neatly labeled: “pots and pans,” “linens,” “devil heads,” “dead things.” Plainly, Ozzie and Harriet aren’t moving in. This Ozzy is Ozzy Osbourne, the heavy metal rock star, and his family. Their arrival in the neighborhood heralds a hilarious new MTV series, “The Osbournes,” that premieres 10:30 p.m. EST Tuesday. MTV describes it as television’s first “reality sitcom,” a format that suggested itself naturally because nothing they could invent around the Osbournes would be as funny as their actual lives. Just the idea of the… Read more »
