Microwave and Puddle Splasher have joined forces to release two collaborative racks on September 25, “Step Inside” and “Heel.” We don’t see splits as often as we used to; a relic of the 2010’s lost to streaming races and the competitive nature of virality. It is refreshing to see this in the year of 2026. Two bands coming together to share art, music, and a journey is truly what creation is supposed to be about.
Vocalist and guitarist for Microwave, Nathan Hardy shares, “As long time Puddle Splasher fans, we had a great time sending ideas back and forth and eventually getting together with them at Barbershop Studios in New Jersey to hang out and work with Brett Romnes to record a couple tracks. Working with Brett was a long time coming as he’s recorded several of our friends’ bands and several of our favorite records over the last decade or two. Surprisingly enough, the songs sound like a cross between Microwave and Puddle Splasher. Dante and Adam played drums and bass on ‘Step Inside.’ Tito and Tyler played drums and bass on ‘Heel.’ Nathan and Andy sang and played guitars on both songs.”
