Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s founding CEO, has announced he is stepping down from his position and being replaced by chief technology officer Parag Agrawal. Dorsey sent out an email to Twitter employees that he subsequently tweeted. Dorsey has left the company briefly before, after a dispute with his co-founder. However, he returned in 2015 to fill the role as CEO again. This time around, there seems to be no drama. He feels it is simply his time to go. He said he will serve on the company’s board until May, to help with the transition, but then it will all be left to Agrawal. The change in leadership is effective immediately. Another great was lost this weekend when Virgil Abloh passed at 41. He had been quietly battling cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, since 2019. Abloh was the first Black man to be Artistic Director at Louis Vuitton. The creative built a life to be proud of, starting at a very young age. His mother taught him how to use a sewing machine and he started selling t-shirts in high school, but he also had a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a masters in architecture. His other works include being the creative director for Kanye West’s Donda and founding Off-White. Abloh was an inspiration and had a powerful influence over the fashion community. Our hearts go out to his wife, children, family, and friends.
